My name is David Osten, I am a theoretical physicist from Germany. Since March 2023 I am researcher (as principle investigator of a Polonez Bis grant) at University of Wrocław, Poland, where I am associated to the group of Falk Haßler. Before that I was postdoctoral fellow at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Germany, and at Moscow State University, Russia. I obtained my PhD in 2020 at the Max Planck Institute for Physics in Munich under the supervision of Dieter Lüst.

My research takes place in the realms of integrable models, in particular integrable sigma models, and dualities in string and M-theory. I am also interested in the mathematical structures behind: the Lax formalism for field theories, differential geometry (generalised geometry, graded symplectic geometry, ...) and algebraic structure (generalisations of Lie algebras, higher brackets, L infinity algebras, tensor hierarchies, ...). A lay version of my research can also be found here.
